Aurora Pots, 2013

Each of these resin pots is embellished with a unique iridescent sheen on its lid.

Each pot was cast in Phil London studio from Jesmonite, a water based non-toxic resin.

Then the lid was placed on the bottom of a container filled with water. Then a single drop of clear nail varnish was dropped onto the surface to form an oily slick. The lid was then carefully lifted up from the bottom of the container until it 'caught' the colourful pattern on its top. It was then left to dry. The slick created by the polish is different each time, so every pot in the set was one of a kind.
